Creating Memory During the Holocaust
Chaim Perlis Memorial Lecture
Speaker: Rabbi Baruch Taub

During the Holocaust many were compelled to preserve their memories by writing diaries. These records of memories were contributed by a wide spectrum of Jews from secular Jews like Anne Frank to great rabbis such as Rabbi Ephraim Oshry. Great efforts were made by them to make sure the thoughts preserved in their writings would survive. Often great risks were taken for their preservation.

What motivated these Jews to create this record during the dark days of the Holocaust? What compelled them to make sure that this part of their lives was not forgotten? These are the subjects to be discussed in this lecture by Rabbi Baruch Taub.

Thank you to Morris & Sarah Perlis for their generous support.
